Many children are provided free lunches through school programs but fail to receive the nutrition they need when returning home. Feeding America BackPack Program reaches over 450,000 children through more than 160 local food banks each week.

June 2018: Red Hawk Adopts Southern White Rhino from Maryland Zoo
Red Hawk is proud to announce their adoption of Jaharo, a southern white rhino who resides at The Maryland Zoo. Jaharo was born at The Wilds, a private, non-profit conservation center in Cumberland, Ohio in 2012 and was transferred to The Maryland Zoo in 2016 to fulfill a recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums White Rhino Species Survival Plan. The young rhino accompanies the zoo’s twenty-two year old resident rhino, Stubby as well as a zebra and an ostrich in the African Watering Hole which opened in 1992. These critically endangered species are native almost exclusively to South Africa, and their numbers are being threatened by both poaching and habitat destruction.
Red Hawk’s decision to highlight the plight of the rhino was a natural progression from the use of the rhino logo on Red Hawk’s accessory brand of products known as RHOX. The adoption of Jaharo aids the Zoo in their wildlife conservation efforts, and providing the best habitat and health care available for the animals. The financial support makes it possible for them to acquire state-of-the-art equipment and medicines, as well as veterinary and medical specialists. And while rhinos may appear stoic, RHOX tires have been donated for Jaharo and Stubby to satisfy their natural playfulness.
Red Hawk’s financial support was supplemented when Gillet Boyce, the owner of Red Hawk, and a team of employees traveled to Maryland Zoo with a custom golf cart as a donation to the zoo’s administration and staff. The custom cart was outfitted with a collection of RHOX accessories as well as a custom airbrushed body that featured lions, polar bears, chimpanzees and the celebrated Jaharo on the front cowl.
Red Hawk is proud to support to the ongoing efforts to save this species and is thrilled to welcome Jaharo as the newest member of their team!
